a FAMILY home reimagined for GATHERING, RELAXTION and PLAY
PROJECT BRIEF
This Maynooth-based family sought to transform three key areas of their home into spaces that better supported their busy lifestyle. With working parents and two teenage children, the goal was to create a series of zones where everyone could unwind, socialise, and enjoy time both together and independently.
A Social Home Bar for Entertaining
This lovely couple wanted a sophisticated environment for hosting friends and relaxing in the evenings. The result is a beautifully crafted home bar, defined by dark fluted timber, a dramatic stone feature wall, and warm metallic detailing. A softly illuminated brushed-metal frame wraps the inset shelving, highlighting premium spirits and curated accessories. Tan leather bar stools and cream curved sofas create an inviting lounge atmosphere.
A Teen Games & Study Room
For the family's teenage children, the aim was to provide a multifunctional room for studying, playing, and socialising. The bespoke joinery features a striking circular reading nook lined with a serene mountain mural and upholstered with a soft faux-fur cushion. Vertical timber slats in navy and pale oak add rhythm and interest. An integrated study desk is framed by contrasting shelving and finished with brass lighting and a tan leather chair, offering a dedicated workspace. A table tennis setup completes the room, ensuring it functions as both a playful retreat and a productive study zone.
A Masculine, Refined Home Office
The husband, who works from home, needed a space that felt polished and inspiring. The new office centres around full-height dark timber joinery with warm backlighting, brass picture lights, and decorative lattice-front cabinetry. A large, elegant desk anchors the room, while soft grey drapery filters natural light. The atmosphere is calm, refined, and subtly masculine—perfect for focused work and professional calls.
